Teeth Whitening

Have you ever looked at yourself smile in the mirror and felt that your teeth are too dull? Teeth discoloration is a common issue among millions of individuals and occurs predominantly due to improper oral hygiene. Some of the other common reasons teeth stain are aging, excessive consumption of beverages and colored foods, grinding the teeth, ill effects of certain medication, etc. Irrespective of the cause, our customized teeth whitening solutions will help you get a bright smile that lasts for a long time.

Conventional teeth whitening

The most commonly preferred method of whitening is the conventional one. It is one with a whitening gel containing Hydrogen Peroxide, a bleaching chemical present in almost all whitening gels. The dentist applies the gel on the teeth and lets it settle for a few minutes. During this, the gel liberates oxygen molecules that penetrate the porous structure of the teeth and bleaches the adhered staining particles. After approximately fifteen minutes, the gel will be rinsed off using water, and the procedure can be repeated if you require a higher level of whitening.

Whitening using plastic trays

Teeth whitening need not necessarily be carried out in a dental practice. Patients can rest in the comfort of their homes while getting the whitening done using customized whitening trays. When you visit the dentist for the initial consultation, digital scans of the teeth will be taken to fabricate customized plastic trays. You can take these trays home along with a prescribed whitening gel. You will have to squeeze a small amount of whitening gel into the trays, spread it evenly, and place the trays on your teeth. They ensure the whitening gel is in continuous contact with the teeth and prevents the intervention of saliva with the procedure. It can be repeated multiple times based on the severity of discoloration.

Laser teeth whitening

Laser teeth whitening uses a photosensitive whitening gel in combination with an activating laser. The gel will be applied on the teeth and activated using the light, after which it produces foam. The liberated oxygen molecules bleach the teeth, and the laser speeds up the process. The entire procedure will be completed in a very short time span, which is why it is highly preferred by the people who run on tight schedules.
